Due to component shortages, we are currently using mil-spec primers in some of our 300BLK loads. These primers contain a harder primer cap designed for use in semi-automatic weapons. You may experience lite strikes in bolt action platforms due to the harder primer cap. Please be aware of this issue before purchasing. For safety reasons, we do not allow returns once the product has been delivered. If you would like to check availability of 300BLK ammo for use in your bolt action platform, please contact us before purchasing.

Gorilla 300 AAC BlackOut Subsonic, 215gr Berger Hybrid Target – 160 Round Bucket

Gorilla Ammunition 300 AAC BlackOut Subsonic features great accuracy and is much quieter than your standard supersonic ammo.

Gorilla Ammunition utilizes only the highest quality components to manufacture top quality match grade loads and this offering chambered in 300 AAC BlackOut with the 215gr Berger Hybrid Target is no exception. Component selection is only the start to our top quality ammunition, the Gorilla Ammunition manufacturing process ensures consistency by pairing high end linear loading equipment with multi stage in-process inspections by highly trained machine operators with a final inspection of each and every round by our quality inspectors to ensure only ammunition that meets our rigorous specifications makes it into the box. Berger Hybrid Target Bullets feature a hybrid ogive, consistent core weight, boat tail, and J4 Target Jacket design. All these features help to reduce wind-drift, create flatter trajectories, consistent BC, and superior accuracy.

Please note: The reduced pressures associated with subsonic ammunition can affect the proper cycling of gas operated firearms. Subsonic ammunition is best used with a suppressor. Suppressors create more back pressure and help achieve full cycling of the gas operated system.

QUALITY PRODUCT! These are without a doubt, the best rounds I’ve ever got my hands on. Complete night and day difference between these and other manufacturers. These guys put some love in these bad boys. Buy with confidence!

This turns your 300BLK into a laser gun. Point, shoot, hit. VERY accurate & as quiet as the 220 Sierra MatchKings. And of course Gorilla loads these perfectly.

Burns complete & clean from 9” SBR with a can… typical great quality from Gorilla. I’ve shot Gorilla since they started/opened the business.

    Niall,

We appreciate your comments about our Gorilla products and am sorry you have had issues with the hard primers. Many of our customers especially those with a Ruger American Rifle have upgraded their firing pin springs to eliminate the lite strike issue. I am including the caution we have on our web page about the primers and bolt action weapons. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to reword it to better address the issue.

We are phasing out these primers and going to a commercial primer that eliminates this issue, so be sure and call to see if the item you want is available in the softer primer configuration. When you see the warning removed, it will mean that all Military primers have been exhausted and the rounds should function in your gun normally with no need to modify the firing pin spring.

I am a fan of Gorilla ammo and pleased with previous purchases. I bought this knowing there might be harder primers in the box. With my bolt gun (which has had no issues at all with other 300BLK manufacturers) I am seeing a little over 50% failure to fire. That’s a bit steep in my book despite the advisory so this is now range ammo. I think Gorilla need to state categorically that these batches should not be used in bolt guns.
That said, when it fires, sub 1/2 MOA at 50yards on an 8″ barrel is nothing to complain about. Stick to AR platforms with this ammo.

Great bullet and case. Had two misfires though out of the first 20 rounds. Solid hit on the primer. Biggest complaint though is the extreme spread is high. Very large vertical dispersion at 50 yard when cold outside. Powder seems to be either very temperature sensitive or metered inconsistently. Hornady Sub-X performs better, but this ammo is a better value and fun.
